How to clear someone someone else's iCloud info off my Iphone 5?

I got a used iPhone but the previous owner didn't wipe the phone and it still has all of his data on it. When I try to log off his iCloud or reset the phone it asks for his iCloud password. Is there a way to do this without his password? It's my brother's boss's old phone so I feel a little weird asking for his password.

"Got"? Why would you get an iphone that wasn't wiped? Don't ask for his password, just take him the phone and have him enter it in to complete the wipe.

Ask your brother to take the phone to his boss and tell him he forgot to reset the phone and that you can't access anything because it's still connected with his iCloud account. I'm sure he will be more embarrassed about that than you are having to have your brother bring him the phone.

You'd need to get the password. If anything just let him know of the situation & if he could meet to see about it without having to tell you the password, then go that route.

  • Which is more accurate regarding the details of an iphone, iphoneimei.info or imei.info? When I look up the IMEI of my broken iphone 5s on iphoneimei.info it says it's 16gb and when I look it up on imei.info it says it's 32gb… Which site is more accurate? The iphone is stuck in recovery mode and will not power on unless connected and it won't tell me the storage capacity in itunes.
  • My iphone is connected to someone else's icloud account? Someone that I knew gave me their iPhone a few months ago because they bought a new one and since she moved away I lost touch with her. A few days ago I thought it would be a good idea to restore the iphone without backing it up (how smart) and now it's not completely activated because the phone is connected to her iCloud account and I have no clue what the log in information is. Is there any way I can fix this or should I go into the apple store and have them try and fix it?
  • Is there a way I can use an iPhone that's logged onto someone else's iCloud? I recently found an iPhone 5s out in the street perfectly fine but it's logged into the owners iCloud and in order for me to restart it I have to put in that persons password and I've been told that there's no way for me remove that account. So I was wondering if anyone knows if it's safe to use it like that and just add another account or if I can use it some other way?
  • If I clear my old iPhone will the icloud back up stay on my new iPhone? Someone I know has a new iPhone 5 and I'm having their iPhone 4. They saved everything on the iPhone 4 to icloud and then downloaded that data onto the new iPhone 5. I want to clear the iPhone 4 putting it back to original state, however, they are concerned that as this phone holds the original photos etc. That this might also delete them off the new iPhone 5. Does anyone know for certain if this will happen or what to do to avoid it? Preferably without needing to back up to a computer.
