How to connect iphone 3gs hot spot connect to pc?

I have read all the info to Connect my iphone to my pc. My pc is quite old so I'm not sure all applies to what I read. I'm inexperienced I must admit. I have the iphone connected to my pc, I have the hot spot on, I go to Network Connections on my pc and it list a local connection with the iphone. From here I'm lost.

When I double click on the local area connection it shows:

Connect using - Apple Mobile Device Ethernet
Then is list like five things:
Connect for MICROSOFT clients
File and printer sharing…
Qos Packet…
Realtekk.
Internet Protocal…

It offers me to install it. Is the what I'm supposed to do?

You will need to be certain that your phone account will let you tether your computer to your phone. Even though you have the Hot Spot function on your phone, you can only use it if your service provider lets you, and they usually charge another $20 or so a month to do that.

You would want to connect for Microsoft clients, and you would need internet protocol. The Realtek item may be software for the network card but more information is needed. You probably don't need or want file and printer sharing. Unless you are running VOIP from your computer over your cell phone, you don't need QOS.
