How to delete Documents and Data on iPhone 4S?

My iPhone is running out of memory so I have been deleting things I don't need. I noticed that "Documents and Data" takes up 4.2 GB out of the 16 GB I have. I don't know what the Documents and Data are and I do not know how to delete them. Can anyone help?

I believe documents and data include the space used for every update on the phone so it may not be possible to delete it

  • Where is 'documents and data' found on the iPhone? It used to be under settings then general but I can't seem to find it anymore and need to clear some space up.
  • What is documents and data in iPhone Storage? I read that it is the junks files including browser history, cookies, logs, caches of photos and videos, database files that are stored by your apps. Someone suggested downloading something that would "clean" your phone and free up space on your phone. I did this, but it only gave me the smallest amount of space available and I was hoping for much more! Can anyone help me out?
  • Trying to clear space on my iPhone. What are Documents and Data? Hi, I'm running out of space on my iPhone and it says most of my GB are used up by "Documents and Data"… What items make up the Documents and Data category? So what should I be deleting to make room? Ex; if I had way too much Audio I would delete my music. What's "Documents and Data"?
  • Iphone over capacity because of Documents and Data? Yep every once in a while I get to where I would just love to throw my iphone off of a cliff. So I synced my phone and at the bottom of iTunes on the bar it says not only that my phone is 375.6 MB but that a HUGE chunk of that is "documents and data", 9.84 GB of it. My questions are: 1. What in the f___ is that? & 2. How do I remove it?
