How to get 3G with Straight Talk using an AT&T iPhone 4?

I've unlocked the phone.
I've called Straight Talks so called customer service. They did absolutely nothing and told me to deal with the fact that I can barley get 2G (E) service. They said it was just the area I'm in. There has to be a way to get better service. I mean, it's running off AT&T towers and I used to have AT&T and the service was fine. I'm about to go back to Virgin Mobile and just not use an iPhone. It's just that I prefer this over anything Android has to offer.
Anything helps at this point

Yes they do use AT&T towers but not all of them or in the same capacity. If Straight talk used AT&T towers just like AT&T then they would be same… Right? No need for AT&T. LOL

You can try T Mobile. They are currently refarming their towers to support the 1900 GSM band. This means that you will get HSPA+ with any AT&T phone. The refram is only partially complete - mostly in larger cites. So if you can't get 3g in ST i don't know about TM.

Also i gotta say have you even used a real high end Android handset? If not i understand you thinking that they are trash. But when it comes to high end devices the iPhone can't even hang with phones like the HTC ONE.

Straight Talk guarantees access, but does not guarantee the speed. If you live where there's T-Mobile, you may want to think about switching from AT&T towers to T-Mobile towers. You will just need to call Straight Talk and tell them that you service is bad with AT&T.

  • Using iphone 3gs with straight talk? Okay I'm confused. I have a straight talk smart phone already but want an iphone so i bought an unlocked 3gs to use. I put my sim card in it thinking that would be all i had to do but it won't work. I can text on it but when i try to use the internet it says it isn't connected to the internet. Do i have to buy a brand new sim card and activate it then? Also i can't get hardly any service, one bar at the most when i would normally have full service. Ugh help!
