How to get a job if you can't afford a car, and the closest business is 10 miles away?

I once tried walking but after 2 miles I was still way out in the country and about to pass out.

I don't know what to do, there's nobody that can or will help me by giving me a ride!

Obviously I don't live on my own, because if I could do that I would live somewhere where I was able to get to a job everyday.

My constantly tells me to do things that she knows I can't do. She says drive, and I say, what? The invisible imaginary. One time she told me to buy an iPhone even though it had a monthly bill, I said well are you gonna pay for it? She said no. I said then why do you keep telling me to get something you know I can't pay for?!

Added (1). She just makes it worse by telling me you need to get a job, then saying she can't drive me. Knowing I don't have any other way to get anywhere. There's a bus, but she won't pay for it. It's $3.50 a ride, which is at least $7 a day.

Added (2). Biking makes me tired out much faster than walking.

Get a bicycle.

Change where you live. Live on a bus route.

Are you physically handicapped? If not a young person (assuming you are a young person because it sounds as if you are living at home with Mom) should be able to walk 10 miles in a little over 2 hours (Average walking speed is between 3 and 4 miles an hour). Then in a few months go and buy a hoopdee to get to and from work.

Get a motorized bicycle! I've seen Chinese scooters going for less than $800.

So pay for the bus out of YOUR pay. It costs gas and maintenance to keep a vehicle to get back and forth to work. I spend about $50 a week in gas… Do the math. The bus is cheaper

Get a bike, you can cover alot of distance with that.

10 miles is only 1/2 hour by bike. I know someone that rides a bike that far to work year round in Ohio. In that part of Ohio, it is common for enough snow to blow over the road by the time the plow is out of sight that you can't actually see the road.

  • Which would you get rid of, home internet or iphone if you lost your job? Assuming there was a job loss and you wanted to keep some service would you keep home interent or iphone I'm thinking you can use iphone still with the Wi-Fi.
  • What is the closest TTC subway station to Brampton? I'm at Sandalwood and Chinguacousy in Brampton and I'm looking for a way to get to a TTC subway station via Brampton Transit only. It can be any one. I'm looking for which is closest/easiest/fastest to get to from my area and how to get there. (How to get there isn't a big part because I have an iPhone that will tell me, I just need a location) I'm open to possibly going through Mississauga but I want to only use 1 Brampton transit transfer.
  • Should I walk 2 miles to school? My school doesn't offer buses and my mom works night shift she told me she won't make it in the morning… I have my iphone with me for directions and google maps said it was 40 minute walk… Should i do it? I'm in middle school (8th grade) and my school starts at 8:20am… I'm a little nervous that's all… What time should I leave? I'm just gonna wall going to school and my mom's going to pick me up…
  • My iphone was stolen. Find my iphone tracked it 15 miles from my house. Should I call police? It happened two weekends ago and I don't think the person ever turned it on until today but I got an email saying it was turned on, lost mode was activated so it locked itself, and it has tracked it to a city about 15 miles away from my house at an apartment complex. I don't think it would be necessary to go there and start knocking on doors. Should I contact police? Its an iphone 4.
