How to get rid of other space on an iPhone?

I've had my iphone for a while. There are 4 gbs of "other" on my phone! I have no idea what it is, how can I get rid of it without deleting everything? And why is it so big?

A hard reset

Mostly cache files. A way to try to take some of it out is to reinstall apps like Facebook, Instagram, etc (mostly apps that have their data elsewhere). No, it wouldn't delete anything by doing this.

There are apps that clear it out as well, for computers, e.g. Phone Clean.

  • What is 'Other' storage on IPhone 4 and how to get rid of it? I have just over a gb worth of other storage i have tried wiping and restoring my iphone. I know there are some apps to view the 'other' but i don't want to pay for them, is there any free apps similar to this without jailbreak or any other ways to get rid of it?
  • Other takes up half my iphone space? How do I get rid of it? It's taking up tooons of space and I can't seem to get rid of it. I don't even have that many pics, apps, or contacts.
  • I'm trying to get rid of Other on iPhone 5? I know this is a tired question because no one can figure out how to truly remove the (5GB in my case) excess of "other" on the iPhone because it apparently might be due to corrupted files. I've tried everything I can find online to no avail. I really don't want to resolve to starting a new phone because I need my current photos, contacts and messages. Any suggestions?
  • How to get rid of the other category in my iPhone's usage The "other" section is currently taking up 7.5GB of my iPhone's capacity (so ridiculous)! I've tried everything: deleting contacts, deleting conversations, deleting apps, and even RESTORING MY IPHONE. But it still is taking up basically half of my usage! Please someone tell me how I can get rid of, or at least drastically reduce, the "other" section.
