How to know if my iPhone is using wi-fi internet or internet from the data plan?
How do I know if my iPhone is using wi-fi internet or internet from the data plan?
Go to settings and in the list, it says something like wi-fi. If that's turned on then you go to I think it's general, click cellular data and if that's turned off, then you're using wi-fi. The thing at the upper left still might say your provider and has like the 3 half circles. If it doesn't have bars next to it, you're using wi-fi.
If it says 3G at the top left, you're not using Wi-Fi
Look in the top, right hand corner of your iPhone.
You will see one of the following choices:
If you see a symbol that looks like three curve like shapes one on top of the other, in the color white, you are on a Wi-Fi network.
I you see a symbol that says 3G or 4G, you are using Internet from your data plan. Data is only used when you use a app or use the browser, that requires Internet connection.
