How to permanently delete pictures from my iPhone 5?

My brother used my same email as the apple id and the other day he for some reason did an iCloud back up to his iPod and it started transferring all my pictures on my phone to his iPod. I noticed that he was getting pictures I had even deleted not just the ones I still had. How come this happens? Have all the pictures I've deleted not been permanently deleted? I stopped his back up so he would stop getting them and then I went to iCloud on setting on both his iPod and my phone and turned off the photo stream and that helped because he stopped getting my pics. Now I want to make him his own apple id so our info won't get mixed in but now I'm worried that if I plug my phone in my computer to do a back up All my pics including the deleted ones will go in my computer. How can I keep this from happening? How come they are still there? How can I make sure they are permanently deleted? And if I get my brother his own apple id, he won't get any of my info anymore right?
