HOW TO RESTORE IPHONE IF PASSCODE FORGOTTEN?
Okay, so I changed my passcode to my iPhone and forgot it 4 hours later. I do not want to take it to apple or a store, I want to do this myself. I tried restoring it on iTunes but when I try it says "could not update "iPhone" because it needs a passcode entered, please enter passcode."
Go for the Apple Store.
If you can't remember the code, there's only one solution - recovery mode. This is what's used by iPhone thieves as well.
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then "slide to power off" to turn off your device.
2. Press and hold the Home button and plug the device into your computer. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. Don't release the Home button.
3. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
4. If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it. ITunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
5. Click OK. Then restore the device.
You'll lose everything on the phone, but… That's why you need to back up your phone and remember the codes you pick. No one's fault but yours.
Connect it to your computer on iTunes. Log in then click iPhone and in the summary panel click restore
- Will restoring my iPhone on my iTunes unlock my forgotten passcode? I put a new passcode on then stupidly forgot it and nkw I can't get in because i'm getting it wrong.
