How to survive an 8 hour road trip? - 1

My family and I are going to Palm Springs, CA and it is a 8 hour drive from our place in California to the house. We will stop at Oxnard for the night then hit the road in the morning after breakfast. I will be meeting some 4 girl cousins who I haven't met yet. They are 20, 14, 15, and 17. The ones closest to my age (I'm 15yrs old, a boy) and will be staying with them for the week. Here's what I will be bringing with me on the car ride

Acer Chromebook C720 with TV shows and Movies downloaded
the AUX cord for my dads car
the TV shows I have are Top Gear (UK) and Top Gear (USA), King of the Hill, and Family Guy. The movies I have downloaded are: American Graffiti, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Smokey and the Bandit. Will these movies and TV show's keep me busy during the ride? Any other suggestions? I get motion sickness so I can't read in the car.

I'd load a few iPods up with interesting podcasts, but then I'm not a 15 year-old boy and am my family's designated driver so I'd be the one behind the wheel.

Even if you can't read in a car, you can still listen to a book with the Audiobooks app. There's some really excellent "young adult" fiction out there these days--I read a lot of it myself though it has been many decades since I could call myself a "young" adult.

8 hours isn't that far. I have been on 24 hour road trips. I like taking pictures of some scenic things along the route, and then label them or add to them etc.

Um apparently I'm going on a road trip from CO to Idaho… I don't really want to go I'd rather stay with my dad and hang out with my friends and not be excluded from their sleepovers, etc. Yeah I guess I have to go with my mom and sis. I hear its a 13 hour drive. UGH. Well my mom drives a Lexus RX 350… It's not like a big SUV its a little smaller.Um what should I do to keep me occupied? I have an iPhone btw. I really don't want to go:/

  • Using iPhone 4 as gps on road trip? I'm driving from MN to FL, and plan on using my iPhone 4 as a gps (using the google maps app). The trip is long, over 24 hours, and I'm wondering if the phone could overheat? Also, would roaming charges incur? I have AT&T as a carrier.
