I was handwashing my dress in my sink and my iphone fell in. I grabbed it immediately and wiped it off. I called my mom in panic and it wouldnt work unless i put it on speaker. My headphones worked fine when plugged in but without my headpphones it doesn't make any noise unless put on speaker when i'm on the phone. It vibrates fine too. My music doesn't play unless i have my earphones in. I turned my phone off and put it in a bag of rice will it be okay?!
Doubt it. You're supposed to take the battery out immediately, definitely Not use it… Then put the phone both (separately) in a bowl of rice by a fan.
I once also dropped my iphone 4s in my bathtub filled with water while taking a bath and texting someone. Well… It costed me 145$ to replace the motherboard which got damaged on submerging in water. So in your case, your motherboard is destroyed too. You need to get it repaired.
Your first mistake was turning the phone on. The next time your phone falls in the water, turn it off
Immediately and then put it in a bag of rice.
Wait 24 hours and try turning it on.
The MIC is having some problems due to water damage. I think you might have to get the phone repaired.
- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
