I'm almost over my data plan on my iPhone 4s

I have att&t and i have 3GB of data a month. I have used 2, 986mb of 3, 072mb and if i go over my parents will kill me! I have gone to settings and then turned off my cellular data, will that stop all data! I've been using Wi-Fi but from my understanding that should be free and not cost me a penny. It seems like my data has been used though because i could of sworn it was at 2879mb yesterday and i had cellular data turned off! Any help please!

Only thing you can do is put your phone on airplane mode

Do you use iMessage when you're not connected to a Wi-Fi network? If so, that'll use your data. It costs $15 per GB of extra data, you can always offer to pay your parents back for it.

Use the Wi-Fi at home and don't use imessage unless its on Wi-Fi

  • Why does my iphone use data over night when cellular data is turned off? Every night I turn off cellular data and leave the iPhone on and one day I wake up and check my data manager and see i have already used 25 MB please help!
  • What happens when you go over your data plan? I'm with telus and have an iphone 4s. I have a certain amout of gigabites of 3G and i know i went over. I went to my grandparents and they don't have internet so i used 3G for everything, does telus charge you for going over your limit?
  • Over using data on unlimited straight talk plan? I have a straight talk iphone and they turned off all my data completely saying i "overused" my unlimited data plan. So i have to wait until my original service runs out which was just three days thank god, to add another 30 day unlimited plan. My only question is. Will my phone still work just fine like it did before this mishap. Can anyone tell me if this happened to them as well? And did your phone work with a new minute card? Or did you have to bjuy a whole new phone also?
