I turned off imessage on my sons iphone. Will he still get texts from iphones?

I had to block some numbers from my sons iphone but later found out that he was still getting & sending texts to some & I found out that was because it was iphone to iphone so it went through imessage so the verizon website told me to turn off imessage on his phone…
so I did but will he still be able to send & receive texts from other iphones?

Added (1). sorry I didn't make myself clear. I took care of those blocked kids but…
we have iphones in the family & close friends who have iphones so I just need to know if he can still text them from iphone to iphone with imessage turned off? Like it wouldn't go through apple imessage anymore just a regular sms message?

If the mobile from which he is getting is also an iphone and you have blocked imessage then he won't get. But maybe he can download other softwares like whatsapp or telegram and still text

Block iMessage and set restrictions on the phone

IMessage is not a text though. Its an I'm (instant message). Yes he would still be able to get SMS/texts from all phones.

You say you have turned iMessage off yes he won't be able to receive any instant messages but he can still send and receive them thought normal standard SMS best thing to do is block the contacts thought the settings.

  • Will i still receive texts if I turned my iMessage off? I used up all my data this month, and I only can use iMessage in a Wi-Fi area now. So when I'm at work or school and don't get Wi-Fi, will i still get a text from someone who has an iPhone? It would just show up in green and be a regular text, right? Or would I not get it at all?
  • Will i be charged for texts on iPhone even though i turned off cellular data and enable 3G? I have turned off my cellular data and 3G believing that everything of texts web browsing etc. Is all based on Wi-Fi. I know imessage won't charge me even though i'm on Wi-Fi. However if i were to text someone who does not have an iphone and it isn't imessage will i still be charged? Because sending messages to them works with my cellular data and 3g off but will i be charged or even charged more since it is off?
  • Why does my iPhone sometimes send texts to other iPhones as iMessages then regular texts to iPhones? Like when I send a text to my friend that has an iphone, it usually sends as an iMessage then it will randomly send as just a regular text and it will be green and not blue.
  • Why can't I get my sons texts? My son has an android phone (not sure which brand) and I have an iPhone 5, I can't receive his texts, I used to be able to but a month or two ago I couldn t anymore, why would this be? My wife and daughter have the same phone as my son and I receive their texts just fine. Any thoughts I why all of a sudden I can't get my sons texts?
