Will i be charged for texts on iPhone even though i turned off cellular data and enable 3G?
I have turned off my cellular data and 3G believing that everything of texts web browsing etc. Is all based on Wi-Fi. I know imessage won't charge me even though i'm on Wi-Fi. However if i were to text someone who does not have an iphone and it isn't imessage will i still be charged? Because sending messages to them works with my cellular data and 3g off but will i be charged or even charged more since it is off?
Texts have nothing to do with internet access, so 3G/4G/Wi-Fi are not involved. Never have.
iMessages are not text messages, they are instant messages (which require internet access).
If you send them using data (which is 1G-4G btw) then you would be charged.
If through Wi-Fi, no.
- Why does my iphone use data over night when cellular data is turned off? Every night I turn off cellular data and leave the iPhone on and one day I wake up and check my data manager and see i have already used 25 MB please help!
- Why did i go over my data even though i had it off I have an iPhone 5 with a 300mb data plan on AT&T, and i noticed i was almost going to go over it (i had 297 of 300mb) so i turned off my cellular usage off in the settings and just used my home Wi-Fi. But today i woke up and i got a message from AT&T saying that i had gone over my limit by 7mb! WHY? I had it off and never turned it on… Also, What happens if i go over my data?
- Why can I still send texts to other iPhones even though my iPhone has NO sim card? My iPhone stopped recieving calls properly so I've had to put my sim card into a different phone. Why when my mate text me from his iPhone did I receive it still on my iPhone and not the phone with the sim card in. And I was able to text him back from the iPhone but when he called me the little Nokia that I'm using rang… I'll be honest, I really don't understand how iOs stuff works…
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
