I used to be able to iMessage off my iPhone 5?

So basically I could iMessage my own number from the same iPhone I was using without having any other device or SIM card but I removed my SIM card this morning and swapped it out for another one

  • Will an iPhone with NO CARRIER still be able to use iMessage? I had an iPhone 4S, but canceled the plan on it completely. I was with Bell. When I got my iPhone 6S I switched to Koodo, and therefore have a new phone #. For some reason I assumed my old phone would still work for iMessage, and am only now wondering if it won't. Where the carrier is usually displayed, my 4S says "No Service" but is connected to Wi-Fi. Can an iPhone with no carrier still send and receive iMessages from the old phone number?
  • My phone won't send an iMessage to a person with another iPhone when it used to? Ok so me and this person text and we rely off iMessage cuz we both live over seas and iMessage used to be fine for both of us but now for her phone it keeps sending texts and it's costing me a lot of money. I have all my settings on and stuff and I can send iMessages to other people but to her it keeps sending them as a text when me and her clearly can iMessage cuz we both have iPhones. I don't know what to do and it's costing a ton of money for me, and prolly her!
  • IPhone can't send iMessage to iPod touch user with iMessage? At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
  • IMessage won't send to another iPhone with iMessage? So my iMessage works to all my friends that have iMessage except one friend in particular. He has iMessage on his phone and can iMessage all his friends but he can't iMessage me. We both have iMessage turned on on our phones but they simply will not iMessage each other.
