I've made a stupid decision and need some advice?

Okay, I don't know why I done it but on an iPhone application I made a fake alias and used a picture of another person (I'm really camera shy) and I know that it isn't good but I was just wanting to get to know some people as friends. From that account I've met a girl who I'm developing feelings for and don't want to just stop talking to. I'm fairly sure she enjoys talking to me for my personality and I want to be honest with her. I'm not sure how to say what I've done to her in order to not lose her. Any ideas would be much appriciated.

Come clean. Tell her you used a fake picture (of I'm assuming a better looking guy) because you didn't want anyone you knew to find your profile. Then send her a pic of your true less attractive self and hope it meets her standards. If not, you just wasted everyone's time.

Tell her before she develops feelings for you that you need to level with her, and do. If she has already developed feelings for you she is going to be hurt. Be prepared to give her a heartfelt apology and be prepared for her to not want to have anything more to do with you. Don't prolong the deception any longer. Her leaving, if she does, is entirely up to her. Don't attempt to affect that decision. Attempt to be contrite.

You also need to think about the legal implicatons involved with what you did. The internet is highly regulated now then it was before and it is a possibility of the persons picture that you stole to take legal action on you. So if I were you I would delte that profile, make a real one of the real you and then add her and start talking to her and see where it goes from there. By doing this you avoid the whole confrontation of "Hey I was lying and made a fake profile" and you also get to find out if you both are really compatible
