If I put my iPhone in recovery mode, will I lose all of my data?
I want to put my iPhone into recovery mode as I want to downgrade to iOS 7 after using the iOS 8 beta. Will I keep all of my data after it's being in recovery mode?
If you put your phone on recovery mode it will washed away all the data you have on you iPhone. Also Keep in mind if you're using Recovery Mode to downgrade firmware, this may not work if you're trying to downgrade to a version that Apple is no longer signing. Older firmwares are not supported and only the most current official version will be verified correctly in iTunes.

And no you don't have to put the passcode to restore it there's another way to put it on recovery mode even if you forgot your passcode
