If I turn off push messages on my iphone 4 will I still get my regular text messages?

I read that turning off push messages or setting them to manually helps save battery life. I want to know if I do this will I still be able to receive my regular text messages.

If you do this you will still get your messages, but I would NEVER recommend it. This means that when someone texts you, you will never get a notification.

It just means that you won't get notifications for your texts.

All it means is that you won't get the notifications for anything, including texts. That means that your phone won't make a noise or vibrate or show anything on the screen, but when you open the app, your message will still be there like normal. You'll just never notice if you're outside the Messages app.

  • When I turn my iPhone off I don't receive any messages when I turn it back on? My iPhones been like this for a while. I'll turn it off and say my friend will text me, when I turn it back on I won't get any of the messages. Anyone know how to fix this?
  • What is push notification or push messaging? I recently bought a new iPhone. I'm trying to find good apps that fits to my everyday work. I discovered this push messaging apps. Is this apps safe to use? What is the benefit of this application?
  • My iPhone isn't sending regular text messages? I have an iPhone 3, and it's sending iMessages but I have many friends without iPhones so it needs to send regular text messages. I tried texting my moms phone, and she never got my message. I have the "send as SMS" thing on and everything. So what's wrong?
  • Is it possible to receive text messages from a regular phone on an iPhone? I have a regular old Verizon slide phone (Samsung Intensity 2) and an iPhone 5 (with no service/SIM card). Is it possible to have the text messages automatically sent to the iMessage on the iPhone so I can read and reply to them from the iPhone? Also, it's probably not possible, but can the calls from the Verizon phone be forwarded to the iPhone too so I can use that instead? Thanks! If it's possible to do this, can someone please tell me how to do it?
