Is it possible to receive text messages from a regular phone on an iPhone?
I have a regular old Verizon slide phone (Samsung Intensity 2) and an iPhone 5 (with no service/SIM card). Is it possible to have the text messages automatically sent to the iMessage on the iPhone so I can read and reply to them from the iPhone?
Also, it's probably not possible, but can the calls from the Verizon phone be forwarded to the iPhone too so I can use that instead?
Thanks!
Added (1). If it's possible to do this, can someone please tell me how to do it?
Yes definitelty - though if not a smart phone it may not display the smilies other than as the puncuation charecters used to make them up
All text messages through your cell your network same SMS format. Both phones can receive regular text messages but the old phone can't receive iMessage messages. If messages are sent from an iPhone to a another iPhone it will be an iMessage message, if sent from an iPhone to another phone that is not an iPhone it will default as a regular text message.
in any case to make such changes you will have to contact your carrier in person. There's no other way for you to do it yourself.
- Will a person receive text messages on iPhone once they power phone back on? When I text a friend of mine, sometimes their texts show up green when I text him (we both have iPhones and messages are normally blue)… Once their phone gets powered back on will the text messages I send when the phone is off b received once the phone is turned back on?
- Why don't I receive alerts or a notification when I receive a text and I already checked my settings? I adjusted my setting and even put the ringer and notifications on and put the volume and ringer on and I receive no alert, no pop up, alert or notification when someone texts me. Why? This is the iPhone X! I went to the cell phone/ carrier store and they didn't help me. They said to go to the apple store or check the settings. I already adjusted the settings. So what do I do now?
- When I receive text messages with emojis from an iPhone, why do the messages only appear partially? My phone is a "Verizon Samsung Intensity II" slide phone. (Also it's blue but that doesn't matter.) Also, if I'm included in an iPhone group chat (spoiled rich friends, but not snobby…), I get each posted message as a separate message, so I'll end up randomly with 67 unread messages clogging up my inbox.
- My New iPhone 4 won't send or receive text messages? I have checked the service centre number which is correct, I have updated the ios software thing (I'm not too clever with Apple products but yes it's been updated). It says iMessage is waiting for activation but it has said this for ages now. I have tried absolutely everything with still nothing. I can make calls, use the internet, I can do everything else! I just can't send or receive text messages… Will someone please help me?
