I'm trying to buy an iPhone 4 off ebay?

My plan was to only use Wi-Fi to use it but people said you have to activate it or get a sim card. What do i have to do to get it to run on only Wi-Fi.

You have to activate it in order to input your iTunes account info. But it doesn't have to be carrier activated just to use Wi-Fi. Might need a sim just to bypass some of the activation steps. Basically it'll be an iPod. Best luck.

If you get a faulty one which won't receive signal then then you can get one cheaper by the way. Anyway back to the question you normally just need to activate through itunes which is only a few clicks to make an account.

i would suggest though you would be better off buying a tablet like the nexus 7 or kindle fire hdx. This would benefit you a lot better as iphones are very slow and prone to problems.

  • What does it mean if i buy a o2 locked iphone 5 off ebay? I was planning on staying on my o2 contract but switching my phone to an iphone by buying one and getting a nano sim card that o2 would give me for free. I have found an iphone 5 for over £100 cheaper (compared to apple price) on ebay but it says o2 locked instead of unlocked. Does this mean that i have to have an o2 contract (which i have so i should be okay i think?) or something else? Someone please explain to me?

  • Is ebay buyer trying to scam me? An ebay buyer bought an iphone 3gs from me 1 month ago and he is barley telling me now that it doesn't work. He opened a case against me stating that the item wasn't as described. Hes had the item for a month and hes barley telling me now, is this a scam from the buyer? If so what do I do? Note: I put no refunds or exchange on my listing.
