Internet via iPhone's Personal Hotspot vs Cable Internet?
I currently have a data plan with unlimited 4G data with my phone carrier. I can share its cellular connection with my desktop at home which has been working out great even for streaming videos.
Is there any reason we should still buy Internet service from an Internet service provider like Comcast, when all I have to do is use the Internet connection from my phone carrier? What are the advantages?
If your cell phone hotspot is working for you, then there's no reason for any other internet service. Typicly, tho, cell phone data plans tend to be the most expensive and most limited.
- Will I be charged for sharing my internet connection via the personal hotspot on my iPhone? If I wanted to let someone use the Wi-Fi by turning on the personal hotspot on my phone will I be charged?
- What additional cost may occur from making my iphone a personal hotspot? I turned on the personal hotspot option in settings on my iphone but it says additional costs may occur. Does that mean it costs money for me to connect my other devices or just if i exceed the amount of 3g i'm paying for.
- Is the personal hotspot option on the iphone safe? I just learned i can use my iphone as a hotpot and i freaked out! Apparently you go settings, general, network, the it says personal hotspot! So is it safe? More importantly does it cost a lot or free?
- Is personal hotspot free for iphone 4s? I have all you can eat data for my iphone 4s and have just found personal hotspot. I connected it up to my laptop and was just wondering will I incur any additional charges by doing so? thanks By the way i'm on network 3 if that makes any difference.
