IPhone 4 Volume does not work after updating to IOS6?

I can't seem to control the volume at all on my phone, whenever I press the volume buttons on the side, the picture of the speaker comes up but none of the dots to show where my volume is underneath show up. My music also does not show the volume, there's the pause/play button with the next/previous buttons on either side of that but underneath where the volume should be, there's nothing. It can still play music and sound off of YouTube and other noises but only when it is plugged into a dock speaker or into the radio transmitter. It also seems to allow me to control my volume when I'm in the middle of a phone call, but I don't want to be making a phone call every time I want to listen to my music. I already called up Apple and they weren't that great of help either. So if someone out there has a solution Please LET ME KNOW As soon as possible.

Switch back to the older version and then test. If the problem still persists, you should take it to some mobile repair shop. That's why android phones are better. I always prefer them.
