Iphone 5C mobile data issue?

Hi, this is my first post on here so iim sorry if I use it incorrectly. For the last 7 days my mobile data (or cellular data as it is otherwise called) on my Iphone 5C hasn't been working although it had been working perfectly for a year. I'm running ios 9.0.2 and i've been on this firmware for a while, when I turn on mobile data an "E" appears in the top left of my phone next to the carrier name but if I try to search something in safari it says "Data roaming is turned off. You can enable Data Roaming in the mobile data section of settings" if I turn on Data roaming and retry it says "Safari can't open the page because you are not connected to the internet" also, if I go to Settings>Mobile data>voice and data it says "2G" if I try to enable 3G it won't let me select it, the blue tick just stays on the right side of the 2G option. Safari is turned on in the mobile data section. I have tried resetting network settings, restting all settings, phoning my carrier and they replaced the sim but it didn't solve the issue, turning on airplane mode, turning off SIM PIN and restarting device, I really don't want to update my device or restore it so I was just wondering if there are any other options I could try.

I suggest going back to your carrier, as this sounds like a carrier issue. Visit General > About in Settings also, as this will trigger a carrier firmware update if one is available. Try to find someone else with a similar phone and the same carrier and see what reception they are getting.

You only use roaming if you are outside of your country of plan purchase (i.e. Abroad and its expensive). Go to setting check that mobile data is switched on (i.e. Green), Roaming set as off, Then check your mobile usage data for current period and make sure you have not gone above your plan limits - some companies lock you out when you hit the limited for the month.
The under the section Use Mobile data for: Check that Safari is also switched on.

Finally check that Airplayne mode is off or that switches wireless off. If all of that is ok go to Setting, General, then select reset right it the bottom of the list and reset you network settings. This will mean you will have to reenter your password for you home Wi-Fi access on your iPhone.

  • Using my O2 free mobile data in Spain - do I turn data roaming on or will this charge? It's now free to text and call and use mobile data in Europe and I'm on contract with O2 and have unlimited everything. I'm just wondering if on my iPhone I have to turn data roaming on to get this or will this charge me? How does it work? As when I turn on my mobile data without data roaming the 3G doesn't work until I actually turn on data roaming?
  • IPhone AT&T, T Mobile sim switch issue? I have a iPhone 3GS I'm trying to do the T Mobile SIM card switch to get the MMS working. I bought the sim brand new on Ebay. When I insert the sim my phone displays "sim failure". Any suggestions? Does the sim need to be activated?
  • IPhone 6 issue Could not activate cellular data network? I have a new iPhone 6, coming from an iPhone 4s. I have AT&T btw. In the top left it shows i have bars, and then the LTE or 4G symbol shows up, but when I try to use safari or anything web-based it says I'm not subscribed to a cellular data service, or "could not activate cellular data network". It works fine on Wi-Fi, but why won't it work on LTE or 4G.
  • IPhone 5c users or any other iPhone model users. Screen clicking issue. You might have it as well? My iPhone 5c screen on the lower right is making a clicking noise everytime I press it, same goes on the plastic back near the iPhone logo! I just got this phone brandnew weeks ago. A lot of people are having this issue at the moment on their 5, 5s, 6 and even the 6s! Idek the cause why its making this noise. Never dropped this thing. Just wanted to ask if you're experiencing the same. If it weren't for my OCD i wouldn't have noticed i've had this thing for weeks now lmao
