Using my O2 free mobile data in Spain - do I turn data roaming on or will this charge?
It's now free to text and call and use mobile data in Europe and I'm on contract with O2 and have unlimited everything. I'm just wondering if on my iPhone I have to turn data roaming on to get this or will this charge me? How does it work? As when I turn on my mobile data without data roaming the 3G doesn't work until I actually turn on data roaming?
You have to switch on data roaming because, as the name suggests, when you are abroad it 'roams' the airwaves looking for a mobile signal that connects with O2 If you are in Spain you will see O2 ES come up on your screen which means you are connected to the Spanish network, ES is short for Espana. You won't get charged, but you will have a much smaller data allowance before they start charging you.
- Will they charge me for roaming on my iphone in the uk? I'm going to the uk tomarrow, ima bring my iphone, but will they charge me for roaming if i use my phone to take pictures or listen to music there? I have at&t and yes i'm from the usa, will they charge me if i turn on my phone there and not use it?
- Will my T-Mobile iPhone 5 work in Spain? I'm traveling to Spain next month and will more than likely be bringing along my iPhone 5 for the trip for use as a camera/iPod/etc. And was wondering if it would be possible to use it for texts, calls, and data as well? If so would this cost extra, or would there be a way to get it for free?
- Will my iphone 3gs work in spain and good spain phone deals? I'm from Australia and i'm going to Spain soon, and I'm just wondering if my iphone 3gs will work in Spain on the Spain network if I get a prepaid Spain simcard, do I just take out my Aussie sim and put the Spain one in, will it work? Or what do I need to do? Also, are there any good phone deals for prepaid simcards that has a lot of credit (I need data cos I'll be using Viber to ring home) and enough to last me 2 1/2 weeks that I'm in Spain without being too expensive.
- Using Iphone 5 abroad/ while travelling without roaming? I'm travelling to the US to go on a cruise very soon and i don't want to pay roaming charges, can i just remove the sim card and use it just for the camera? I don't need to call or text (but would i be able to text if there was Wi-Fi?) all info is helpful thanks. i just want to use the phone for the camera. I don't want to call or text. should i just take out the sim card?
