IPhone 5s verizon not unlocked?

I purchase an iPhone 5s verizon thinking it was unlocked. But it's not unlocked? Why?

Check if its oficial or not via iphoneimei.info if its not unlock it because an oficial iphone is much better than a one locked.

They are generally locked if they are bought anywhere other than Apple - the various phone companies make their money on the usage costs, not the phones themselves.

They will use any means possible to keep you tied to them & paying their service costs.

Something to do with Verizon running on CDMA networks instead of GSM, so a Verizon phone that's unlocked will not work on a carrier that uses GSM. I shouldn't answer without knowing all the facts but it's something like this.

Most of time they're unlocked but there has been many reports of locked iPhones from Verizon. You can get the phone factory unlocked though. If you need help with getting the phone factory unlocked, mail me for references.

  • Will an unlocked iphone 4S work for tmobile if it isn't factory unlocked? I want to get an iPhone 4S and my friend has the iPhone 4 unlocked but i'm worried that if i get it non-factory unlocked it won't work. My uncle tried to do it a couple of months ago and apple said that if it was factory unlocked every time the phone shut off or died it would reset. I was just wondering if the same thing would happen if it wasn't factory unlocked? So if I get it unlocked everytime it will shut off it will reset? That is what i'm worried about.
  • Unlocked vs factory unlocked iphone? So I'm thinking about getting an iPhone but I wanted to know if I could take an unlocked iPhone to the Verizon store an them set it up for me? I have no clue what the difference between factory unlocked, unlocked, and locked iPhones are
  • Is the iPhone 5 on Verizon unlocked or not? I want to know the real answer. I went to Verizon, and they said that theirs is unlocked. They mentioned that they are allowing users to roam freely in other countries, while others don't. So I went to apple, I asked the sales guy. He told me that it is Verizon's opinion, and he can't say much about it, and he would not risk it, because most of the iphones are supposed to be locked not unlocked. Now I don't know who was right. Why would Apple say that?
  • If i do not have insurance on my verizon iPhone 5s but warranty with apple will verizon replace it? I do not have insurance with Verizon; however, I have warranty with apple until next year. Apple will replace my phone but will Verizon replace my iPhone since i have warranty with apple? (i bought it from Verizon) I'm just wondering because it is easier for me to go to Verizon rather than Apple.
