IPhone 6 fraud, will it be stolen?
So IIm selling an iPhone 6. I have a buyer and he said he has a family member in abroad and he wants me to ship it to him/her and he will be the shipping. He said he will give me the money through pay-pal which IIm fine with. But once I told My family about this they said he can claim he never got the phone and get his money back with the phone. Can this happen? And if so how do I Prevent it
Classic scam
nicely spotted
your family is absolutely right - if you don't send to the address associated with the PayPal account, all your protections evaporate
It's a scam
You can't prevent it as you are ONLY protected by Paypal if you have signed proof of delivery to the buyer's VERIFIED address. That's why scammers have you send overseas. Once you send it, they contact Paypal claiming they were hacked and there's an unauthorised transaction. Paypal contacts you asking for signed proof of delivery to the buyer's verified address. You won't have this as you sent it abroad, and Paypal refunds him out of your account and the relative resells yoru phone for cash
Tell him you are sorry but per Paypal's terms you can ONLY ship to a Paypal verified address which you always verify by calling Paypal after the money appears in your account. So tell them that you can't send to the relative, that's their responsibility. Once you receive the money in your account you will call Paypal to verify the address on the account and send it there through registered mail with a tracking number and insurance. If they do not agree, then you are sorry but you have another buyer willing to pay in cash tomorrow
You wait for the money to clear in paypal, you make sure you charge the buyer the postage and tell them you will only send it either direct to him or his family member and it will be recorded delivery, so the parcel will need signing for on delivery and you can track that, so can prove it was signed for and received.
- Is there any hard evidence of widespread fraud of welfare programs? Or is it all just anecdotes. The most common type of answer I get is "my neighbor is on food stamps and has an iPhone!"
- If there's fraud or something goes wrong, will PayPal get me my money back? I'm buying an iPhone off of Craigslist. I have pictures and everything looks fine. If I pay the money and don't get it or its fake or some kind of fraud, will I get my money back?
- I signed up in Svaiza. They called me. Is this a fraud company? I signed up to buy a Iphone in just rs. 399. I just wanted to know how does it work. When I signed up they just refreshed the page. Thinking I'm not signed up, I moved away. Now they have called me saying that I'm selected in 20 among 100. They forced me to buy a product. Only 15 people wins. I doubt this company as they can sell in such a low price. Does any one has any experience with this company.
- I have a stolen iPhone 5c but I didn't know it was stolen? I bought an iPhone and checked the imei and I found out it was stolen. I can't use it yet because it is stuck in the beginning where it says " please insert a sim card, SIM required" I just want to use it as an iPod since I got it for a good cheap price. It is a sprint phone, and also if I take it to Apple or Sprint will they take the phone away? I didn't know it was stolen and I don't want to get blamed or end up losing money. The iPhone was restored already.
