Iphone lost/stolen can they use it?
I lost my iphone 4 days ago and no one has handed it in so someone has probably taken it for themselves. I didn't want to miss out on Christmas messages so I canceled the sim 3 days ago and the carrier (3 UK) told me they were going to block the phone too but that I could ring back and get it unblocked if I found the phone.
Firstly I had my own pin code on the phone so they could not use it when they found it, but then the next day 3 blocked the phone so my question is; can the person who has my phone now do anything with it? If they get it unlocked/jail-broken will it work even though the IMEI is blocked?
And second question; If they can unblock it will they be able to see all my photots?
Where there's a will, there's a way. A pro can easily hack the phone and extract all the data. The IMEI block may help in blocking the use of the phone on a specific network but I'm sure with the right jailbreak it can be used with a different network or within another country.
They can always use it for wi-fi use only and as an iPod touch.
- Can they get into the phone if they know the passcode when it's in lost mode? I had an iPhone with a passcode and it and it got stolen by someone I know. But they know the passcode to get in the phone. If the phone is in lost mode, can they still open the phone with the passcode? Or you you have to disable it through Find my IPhone? I won't report this person but I want to make sure they can't use the phone, even if they have it.
- IPhone was stolen can they jailbreak it? So on Saturday my things were stolen one of which was my I phone, I have pictures of them saying they have my things and that they will smash it and that they'll sell it and so forth. What can I do about getting it back? If not i called my company and they said they deactivated it (AT&T) but all my everything is in the phone if they jailbreak it will they see all my things and data? Will they be able to use my stuff after? The fact that someone else has my stuff is making me more mad
- Iphone stolen, can they see all my info? I got my iphone stolen from me last friday. I got my friend to try and track it but the app says the phone is dead. Wouldn't of someone turned it on by now? Why hasn't the app told my friend that its been turned on? Could the person have taken the sim card out and now i can't track it? I told my phone company to suspend it, so no one can use it. Its also locked. Can the person that stole it still be able to get a my info?
