Iphone over capacity because of Documents and Data?
Yep every once in a while I get to where I would just love to throw my iphone off of a cliff.
So I synced my phone and at the bottom of iTunes on the bar it says not only that my phone is 375.6 MB but that a HUGE chunk of that is "documents and data", 9.84 GB of it.
My questions are: 1. What in the f___ is that? & 2. How do I remove it?
Hi… I would start off buy downloading DropBox for your images and videos see: http://www.howtoidevice.com/back-up-photos-and-videos-free-no-jailbreak-or-itunes, Once you have done this you can delete all your images and videos from your camera roll as you have them saved in DroBox. This will free up a good bit of your memory. I think the Used capacity your talking about could be stuff like Saved game data and read messages, Call logs etc. So what would do is (1)Do the DropBox (2) erase read sms and call logs(3) If your device is jailbroken download Clean-up and run it. This will remove the stupid files that you don't need like Removed game history and stuff like that… Hope this helped…

- Why is my iphone over capacity? I only have like 9 apps and not even 100songs on it? I'm trying to add pictures to it but its saying its over capacity and its also going really slow, i've token out half of my apps and deleted most of my pictures too but nothing helps

- What is documents and data in iPhone Storage? I read that it is the junks files including browser history, cookies, logs, caches of photos and videos, database files that are stored by your apps. Someone suggested downloading something that would "clean" your phone and free up space on your phone. I did this, but it only gave me the smallest amount of space available and I was hoping for much more! Can anyone help me out?
