Iphone rice technique, is it worth the risk?
Ok so I dropped my phone into a toilet and it of course took some water damage. Now I'm wondering if I should risk it by putting the phone into a bag of rice and leaving it for a week or to cut my losses by taking it into tech repair.

Yeah put it into a tub of uncooked rice for about a week. Don't even touch it. That will dry out a lot of the moisture still in your phone and will give it a chance of working. Then try it and fingers crossed it will work. It's worth a chance, you can't damage your phone in any way by doing this. You just have to go a week with a throwaway
- What is this guitar technique called? I see it in modern metal, but even Metallica has used it in the past You basically alternate between palm muted (usually) open notes on the low E, and clean notes on the A (generally on frets 5, 7, 8, 10, 12 depending if you're in dropped tuning or not Am I rambling or am I making sense? Is there a name for this type of riff? here's an example, hopefully this comes out right (on iPhone not desktop) A---7---8 E-0---0---0---0--- --- hopefully you get the gist:/
- Should i risk cutting my mini sim to a micro sim? I have a iPhone 3GS but i recently bought myself an iPhone 4. I found out that i will need a micro sim as opposed to a mini sim, but i was wondering if i should risk cutting it down with a kitchen knife or something. I'm currently with vodafone and have had my sim card for about a year if that affects it? Is it easy to do? What are the risks? Am i likely to mess it up? What are problems faced when doing this? Any extra info would be much appreciated.
- Is there any risk in buying an unlocked iPhone? I'm out of contract with AT&T, with a 3Gs. My son tells me I should buy an unlocked 4s from a private party to preserve my unlimited data plan. Aside from taking the usual precautions for a high dollar private transaction, are there other concerns? If I walked into an Apple store with a question about using the phone, could they tell its status, and if so what could they do to me? Also, is unlocking a phone the same as jail-breaking it?
