Is it possible for my iphone 4s from sprint to be unlocked for t-mobile?
So I bought an amazing Iphone 4s off craigslist, which was used by sprint or cricket and the seller told me to go to t-mobile and they'll unlock it for me. Is that possible because I saw programs saying they unlock any carrier's iphones for only 20 bucks, plus the iphone 4s iOS of 6 has a sim slot

No, while it does have the ability to read and use a sim the iPhones released for sprint and verizon have hardware blocking the use of USA side GSM networks or T-Mobile and AT&T. The sim slot in these iPhones is for international use only.
I use to be able to bypass that so some one could take it over to a GSM carrier but the Library of Congress recently made the modifying of hardware illegal. It required the manipulation of the serial number and they made that a no-no.
