5 and 5s are very similar to each other. I guess the only difference is that 5s has the touch id, the fingerprint identity sensor. You might as well just wait for the iphone 6.
5S is better hardware in every category, its not even close. I would wait until your contract is up and get it on a new contract though, you could trade in the 5 and it would be almost like a free upgrade.

I think that you should wait for the iPhone 6 instead. The reason being, the iPhone 5s has a better camera, better hardware, and a fingerprint sensor. However, all these specs does not make a huge different in performance, other than skin tone when using dual flash for pictures.
If let's say you were to get an iPhone now, I would say you get the iPhone 5s instead of the iPhone 5 simply because it is better, but not by much. Since you already have an iPhone 5, there's no point in upgrading to an iPhone 5s.
They both have the same hardware, the 5s just has Touch ID and a much better camera. The internals are a lot faster on the 5s, but it wouldn't be a huge upgrade. Just wait for the iPhone 6, it's supposed to come out fall of 2014
