Is Verizon iPhone 5S unlocked for international carriers?
I'm traveling abroad to Taiwan for a month, and I'm just wondering if my iphone 5s is already unlocked so that I can actually use the sim card from carriers in Taiwan or do I have to call Verizon to have them unlock it.
( 2 years ago when I traveled out of US, I had to call verizon for a "international unlock" on the iphone 4S i had, do I have to do the same for iphone 5s?)
No. They are not already unlocked for foreign travel. You'll do the same thing just like the 4s. Best luck.
All new Verizon phones are unlocked and on dual GSM CDMA. Yes it will work, but don't take my word for it, get an assurance from the Verizon store before you buy it that it will work on GSM overseas.
- Will the factory unlocked iphone 4 work with any carriers? I want to take this phone to a different country. If i get a sim card there, will the iphone 4 still work if it has been factory unlocked?
- When do US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc) lower the price of older model iPhones? Usually when a new iPhone comes out, the previous years model gets discounted by about $100. Does this price change usually happen when the new iPhone is announced, or is the price drop not effective until a few weeks later when the new model actually becomes available for sale?
- What other carriers work with a factory unlocked iPhone 4? - 1 I'm thinking of buying a used factory unlocked iPhone 4 from ebay. I do not want to use Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint because they charge a high monthly fee. I would like to use another carrier. I need to know the specific names of other carriers that would support its signal. I can't seem to find this information. Also don't tell me the answer like "All CDMA, GSM carriers, etc" I need to know specific names of carriers.
