Laptop won't detect iPhone but will detect other USBs?

I have been having issues with this for so long. I have contacted Apple and they couldn't figure out the issue and now I'm reaching out to you guys hoping SOMEONE will be able to help. It use to work perfectly and stopped suddenly. I have no idea what the issue is, but I know it's with my computer and not my phone because I've tried other iPhones and they weren't detected either.

I'm using a NE51B Gateway laptop with Windows 8, trying to connect an iPhone 4.

Added (1). The phone DOES charge when I plug it in. The issue is that it doesn't appear under my devices and I can't view it on iTunes. (I want to add music to it)

such as the usb itself is broken - The USB works on other computers.

could try rebooting you pc to see if it do any help in locating your phone's drive - I've done this MANY times.

Or maybe that the usb no longer working - Other USB stuff does work. I've tried it with my PS3 controller and other devices that use a USB. It just won't detect my phone for some reason.

Added (2). I have the latest version of iTunes. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but nothing.

If you're using a usb, then there a lot of solution why it doesn't work, such as the usb itself is broken and iPhone usually last for a year, which is starting to die out ; affect commonly on battery which need replacement and other stuff that couldn't connect. I assume you know it's your computer/laptop that is causing trouble, could try rebooting you pc to see if it do any help in locating your phone's drive. Or maybe that the usb no longer working? More info & detail would be better in getting a proper answer, instead of me stating basic stuff

Download Itunes so your computer can detect your mobile. Just like Kies for Samsung Phone.
