Mail app on iPhone is taking up a lot of space even though it is empty?

So recently I've been getting pop ups about my storage being low. I went to check and mail was taking up 5 GB! I went and cleared it out, physically through each folder and deleted everything. Nothing happened. I went and I disabled it and even while disabled it took up lots of space. I turned it off from iCloud too and still nothing. I even went on my account on the computer and deleted everything there yet still nothing. Right now it's at 6.4GB someone please help.

Did you also delete the mail from the Trash? If not, that's basically the same effect of filling a real life bin but not emptying that out.

  • Tumblr app taking up a lot of space? Hi, so my iPhone recently told me I was almost out of space. So I went and checked to see what was taking up so much space and it's says that my tumblr app is taking up almost 3 GB in the documents and data part of it. I was wondering why and how I can fix this without just deleting the app.
  • Photos on iPhone taking up a lot of space? I recently purchased an iPhone 5 and have taken a total of 22 photos. The problem is this takes up 2.1GB of memory. Is that normal? Is there a way in which the memory usage for photos can be decreased?
  • My iPhone says that my Notes is taking up 1.79 GB of storage. I only have 3 notes, and there isn't a lot of text in them. How do I fix this? Recently there were a lot of notes on my phone, but I deleted most of them until there were only three notes left. However, my phone still says my Notes takes up 1.79 GB. I tried writing a really lengthy note to see if the GB would go higher, but it didn't change. I don't want to delete my three remaining notes, which have very little text in them. I doubt that these notes are taking up 1.79 GB. What is the problem here, and how do I fix it?
  • Is there any way I can use my deceased father's iphone X even though I don't know his password or his e-mail password? My dad passed away recently. He had a fairly new iPhone X. I'd like to use it as my own phone but I don't know the passcode. I watched a video on how to restore the phone but I still can't use it because the phone is connected to an itunes account… And since i don't know his e-mail password, i can't reset it. I went to AT&T (where we were on a family plan) but they said they can't help me. Is his nearly new phone destined to be a paper weight?
