Yes, you can do that. There are plenty of manuals online on how to do that.
If it does not work, you simply walk into any shop of your Mobile operator and ask for a not activated Nano sim, then get in touch with your Mobile operator and ask to switch your number to this new Nano sim. Obviously, you will keep your number
