My computers USB ports won't work
I have a compaq presario CQ62 running on windows 7. Recently my ports have stopped working. I have tried pretty much everything! It's really frustrating because I recently updated to an iPhone 5 and I couldn't back up my iPhone 4. Went to apple and they managed to back it up but still couldn't recognize my 5! I've managed to transfer everything from iCloud (which was a very painful process)
My laptop will sometimes recognize my USB but will never recognize my phone. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes with no luck.
I'm getting pretty desperate now.

Get it checked
Try going to Device manager and uninstalling the drivers for your all of USB controllers and restart the computer. When prompted on startup for the device drivers point to c:\windows\system32\drivers folder.
Also, check the BIOS screens to see that USB is enabled.
- Why does my Direct TV DVR have USB ports? There are two USB ports on my Direct TV DVR. If I plug in with my iPhone, USB, etc, what kinds of things can I do?
- My USB ports are not working, how do I fix it? I have A Dell laptop, the newer ones, and I just purchased and iPhone and I tried plugging it in and my laptop won't pick up the device. There's no message that says the device is unreadable it just doesn't pick it up. I have a webcam that doesn't pick up anymore either. I don't know what I did or what to do. So if someone could please help, that'd be great
- My iphone8 won't turn on? I've tried holding & pressing all the buttons, & plugged it into 3 different charging ports It still won't work? How do I get it to turn on?! I've also tried using different charger cords. The phones been plugged in for like an hour and no luck
- My iphone can't detected by my laptop and desktop pc (in all usb ports)? Just from last 2-3 hours my laptop and pc says-"usb device not recogniced'. Same problem with all usb ports
