My iPhone 4 will not receive messages, what do I do?
Just the other day my iPhone 4 stopped showing that I was receiving messages. I tapped on my "Messages" icon and the message that they have sent would be there, but it was like I opened it when I hadn't yet. Then it got worse… I would tap on the message that my phone thought I had read but hadn't, and most of our conversation from the past couple days would just be gone. I can still send messages out though and they are received.
I'm up to date on the latest software, but Every couple of minutes I get a message that pops up and says "Storage Almost Full… You can manage your storage in Settings," so I did. I have full memory in iCloud and I have 7.3G and 6.4GB used. All of my Apps are deleted and I don't have that many songs and pictures on my phone. As for messages, I have them dated back to 2011 just because I never delete them. So I decided I would finally delete them and they kept popping back up when I deleted them. So weird.
I backed up my phone, and rebooted it through iTunes, and what do you know? It still is doing the same thing. Thank you for getting this far and if you have any ideas to what I should do it would be so appreciated.
Do you think that someone else might be using your phone? Cuz msgs don't get naturally read. Do you have a passcode?
- Why don't I receive alerts or a notification when I receive a text and I already checked my settings? I adjusted my setting and even put the ringer and notifications on and put the volume and ringer on and I receive no alert, no pop up, alert or notification when someone texts me. Why? This is the iPhone X! I went to the cell phone/ carrier store and they didn't help me. They said to go to the apple store or check the settings. I already adjusted the settings. So what do I do now?
- Why does my iphone not receive group messages unless 4g is on? When I'm at home and I'm using Wi-Fi I always turn off cellular data because I don't want to accidentally be using up my data, but whenever it is off I never receive group messages until I turn it back on? Why does it so this and can I make it so I can still receive group messages when only using Wi-Fi?
- Why do I not receive text messages? I have switched phones from having an iPhone and my inactive iPhone still receives messages from other iPhones as iMessage texts. I turned off my Imessage in the settings on my iPhone but I still do not get texts on my new phone from iPhones…
- Why can't my iPhone receive SMS messages on 3G? I have a 3GS which has just started having issues with 3G connection. It refuses to receive SMS messages, but I'm able to send them. I have tried to reset network settings, turn off iMessage, restart numerous times to no avail. The only way I can make it work is to turn off 3G, turn the phone off and on which allows SMS to be received. Am I missing something obvious as to why it's having a mini meltdown?
