My iPhone 5 says I need a sim card to activate, and I have Verizon
I was trying to restore my phone and in the process of doing that it now is asking for me to insert a sim card. I have Verizon and we don't require sim cards. What is my next step? Also, my phone has not yet been activated. This requiring of the sim card is keeping me from activating it.

IPhone 5 is an LTE phone. LTE requires a SIM card. The card should have come with the phone. Insert it.
Just go to their store and ask for SIM card, they'll provide one. Or go on their website and order one.
- What's the reason why you have to have a SIM card to activate an iPhone? What if I want to use my phone after my plan gets canceled. Is that legal without a sim? And is it legal to use someone's sim to activate it if my phone software brakes. But what's the reason that you need one to get into the iPhone? That doesn't seem right at all to not allow someone to get into an iPhone that has one.
