My iphone 5C ios 8 suddenly went to black and white display?

I've searched all over the web to see if I'm alone with this problem and thus far, it seems I'm! I assumed it was a bug with the new iOS 8 release… And wasn't too worried about it because of that…

But when I searched for the problem for a solid 45 minutes or more and still couldn't find ONE person with this same issue, it had me a little concerned! (Almost creepy! Lol)

Anybody out there seen this? Everything is working perfectly normally and the phone is jsut fine. It's just completely lacking any color whatsoever… I'm completely at a loss here!

I'm an iOS Technical Advisor with Apple. Since you have a 5c it should be new enough to still be under a warranty, Give us a call at 1-800-My Apple. We will either fix it or replace the phone for you if we can't. But I have a suggestion that will work if your problem is a software issue. Put it in the recovery mode. You turn the phone off, open I tunes on your computer, hold down the home button on the phone and then plug the phone into your computer. When the iTunes symbol shows up on your phone you can let go of the button. Your comp will say it sees a device in recovery mode. If that does not work call us. Ask for a senior advisor

Thanks so much Corey! Greatly appreciated! I actually tried just completely resetting the device like a new phone after saving everything to the cloud and it rebooted beautifully! Almost felt like a
new phone! I'm so grateful!

Trying the following steps:
General->accessibility->ensure that the "zoom" is switched off

Deb was not the only one with this problem. I took my phone out of my pocket and the screen was enlarged. I three fingered tapped the screen and it went to normal size but, it too, was black and white. The did the trick.

I had the same exact problem and followed Corey's advice and it worked exactly as described. Color has been restored.

Thank you all for posting this, I just had the same problem and I'm recovering it, I hope it works just like it happened with yo!

Had the same problem after tapping the screen to zoom out. Updating software didn't help but turning off Zoom in the accessibility did.
