My iPhone won't sync to iTunes?

My iPhone 5 has always worked fine with iTunes in the past, but when I try to sync it now it says "This iPhone does not work with this version of iTunes, download 64 bit version".

So i download that version and then when I try to open it, it comes up with "This can't be opened because it was downloaded with a newer version of iTunes"?

How can I do one of?
- Be able to sync my iPhone with normal iTunes
- Get the 64 bit version to open

1.) Make sure that you have the most updated version of IOS (which is 6.0.2 right now). On your iPhone, tap on "Settings," then "General," then "Software Update" to find out if you need to update.

2.) On iTunes, once your iPhone is connected (via cable) click on the "iPhone" tab, then click the "Summary" tab, then scroll down to "Options" and make sure that ONLY the first two boxes are checked (which are "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi"). When I had any more or less boxes checked under "Options," my iPhone 5 wouldn't sync.

3.) Make sure that your desktop icon (or the icon in your doc, if you have a Mac) and folder icon (or Applications icon if you have a Mac) for iTunes are the same version. Delete the shortcut and drag a new one onto your desktop if you need to.

4.) Delete iTunes and all of its shortcuts on your computer. Reinstall the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Try the sync again. (Make sure you back up your playlists before you delete iTunes or they can be deleted with it.)

5.) Go to https://discussions.apple.com/...index.jspa (Apple Support Communities) and post your question there. Either Apple or iTunes users will tell you what to do.
