Rude for 1 interviewer to be focused on his iPhone during an interview?

I had a 4th-round job interview today. Each time I go back, I keep hearing more about why I don't want to work there.

Today the interview was with 3 interviewers: 2 on videoconference and 1 on the phone. (We were all in conference rooms in different offices.)

1 interviewer barely looked up from his iPhone; he held it almost right in front of his face, partially blocking his face and showing the entire back of the iPhone to the camera. He asked me 1 question, and that was it.

How rude is that?

I think that's certainly a strong reason NOT to work there, as he's one of the 4 most senior people there (out of 1,000 employees).

It was a test.

You were suppose to question his interviewing skills.

If he was in an emergency situation and had to sit in on the Interview, it doesn't matter what he was doing while on his phone. It's very possible he was typing notes.

Strange. If it was an emergency then he should have been excused and if he was taking notes then it should have been on paper.

Not everyone you meet with is able to interview well. Will he be someone you report to? Is the job you will be doing something you WANT to do? Is the company a place where you want to work? Was HR involved with this process?

By the 4th interview you should know if you even want to work there. Don't convince yourself to work somewhere that doesn't feel like a good fir for you.

Toughen up. Everyone's rude sometimes.

That is rude but i wouldnt let that stop you from taking a job

  • Is there any way I can use my deceased father's iphone X even though I don't know his password or his e-mail password? My dad passed away recently. He had a fairly new iPhone X. I'd like to use it as my own phone but I don't know the passcode. I watched a video on how to restore the phone but I still can't use it because the phone is connected to an itunes account… And since i don't know his e-mail password, i can't reset it. I went to AT&T (where we were on a family plan) but they said they can't help me. Is his nearly new phone destined to be a paper weight?
  • Is it rude to ask for an iphone 5c or 5s for Christmas? I already have a phone but I want an iphone. I feel rude asking for expensive stuff. My parents are always talking about getting my mom an iphone, but they never said anything about me getting one.
