Someone recorded me illegally on their iphone audio recorde?
Ok here are all the details, i had a friend that agreed to be a FINANCIAL backing for my business and said he wants to consider himself my partner so i told him thats fine but lets get started with my corporation already so there's no more wasted time on startup and waiting on corporation papers, so the business didn't work out as planned, i paid back every single penny he put in and took a loss myself and now hes upset and and wants to take me to court because he thought he was my legal partner example on paper and he said that he has my voice recorded saying that ya you could be my partner but i had no knowledge of the recording
First, make sure you live in a state that requires all parties' consent for making a recording. Also, was the recording done in a place/environment where you would have had a reasonable expectation of privacy? Someone recording your voice without your consent is not necessarily illegal. If it was done illegally, then you can take legal action against them.
The recording wouldn't be admissable in court if it's a two party consent state.
Not sure what he thinks it would do to take you to court anyway, there's no money left, the business is done and he lost nothing. Waste of his time and money.
