Stolen iphone returned to me, can i use it again
When I was on holiday in Vegas in June I unfortunately got robbed and my iphone 4s stolen, I contacted Vodafone, got the phone blocked and contacted my insurance company when I got back. The insurance company refused my claim as I didn't inform Vodafone within 12 hrs, i kicked up a massive fuss on forums and eventually they agreed to pay out and send me an iphone 4. As I was very upset with their service I cancelled the policy.
I was then contacted by the LVPD who informed me they had my iphone - my friends were visiting Vegas and were able to collect my phone, which I received on Friday. Unfortunately then on Saturday I got pick pocketed in Brixton and got the working iphone 4 stolen, informed Vodafone but the phone wasn't insured so no replacement for me:-(
I'm now waiting for a new sim to try and use the iphone 4s that had been taken - anyone got any idea if it will work? Any advice would be very helpful, I've been so unlucky!
I'd call them up and ask. My iPhone4s sim was blocked as they thought I was using for business but I called up, had to wait 72 hrs (3 days) and they unblocked it and it now works fine, hope I helped and hope you get it sorted!
Wow - don't play the lottery for a few weeks!
If the phone is still blocked, then no SIM card will work in it. You'll need to get it unblocked, which will require getting in touch with Vodafone.
You'll have to prove that you were the original owner of the handset, which should be fine, but once that is done, they'll remove the block and you can start using your SIM card again.
Hope that helps.
The insurance company now own 'your' first handset.
It will be blocked.
As far as I know the stolen one that got returned to you is technically the property of the insurance company as they have paid out to cover its replacement.
- Would i get a new iPhone 5c/s if I returned my iPhone 5? So I have an iphone 5, with a dead pixel, I'm still within applecare's 1 year warranty plus I have an extra year that I purchased from my provider. If I returned the iPhone due to it being "defective" (the dead pixel) would I receive a new iPhone due to them having flushed their stock of 5's? Could I do it now or wait another year?
- Will it damage my new iphone when suddenly there's a brownout then seconds after the power returned? I was charging my iphone when suddenly we had a brownout and when i was about to unplug my phone the power suddenly returned in just a span of seconds. I heard that it is not safe for appliances or devices if it is like that because of the electrical wave. Will this damage my phone? I'm worrying because this is my new phone.
- Why was my one ounce letter returned to sender? I sold some iPhone chargers. Individually they weigh less than an ounce. I put them in a white envelope. I used one postage stamp, covering 1 ounce. I got 15 of them sent back to me. The message said these envelopes are not letter rate, but small parcels. Each is $2.07 postage. I sent a lot more of these out.Am I going to get them all back? Am I getting screwed by the post office? Any info would be great.
