Used unlocked cell phone from verizon?

I want to get another phone, but I don't want to buy it from Verizon s store. If I buy an unlocked iPhone from an online source like eBay will Verizon s workers honor that and activate it if I didn't buy it from their store? I'm not tech savy so I really have no clue.

You can supply your own phone with any of the phone providers, but you must make sure that your phone is compatible with their system. IE: ATT and Verizon are not using the same type of systems, so even though they both use the same models of phones, (iPhone 7, etc.) they are different internally and NOT usable with each other. Make sure the phone you buy is Verizon compatible. The reputable people selling on eBay will usually list which phone service the phone was used with in their listing.

Note: Unlocking does NOT make a phone compatible with All services. An unlocked GSM phone can be used with other GSM companies only and an unlocked CDMA phone can be used with other CDMA companies only.

Just so you know: In the US, Sprint, Verizon and US Cellular use CDMA. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. Thus, you need a phone that is CDMA and NOT GSM. If in doubt, ask the seller what phone company the phone was originally with. If they don't know, or try to tell you that an unlocked phone can be used with any service, walk away and find someone who has a phone you can use. (I did a search in eBay electronics for "Verizon" and found thousands of results.)

Bring it to a chinese place they fix it up

Anything is possible with cash. Pay the fees and they'll do it. Don't expect it for free.

All you have to do is buy a simm card that's not registered and stick it in you verizon phone, and then register it with whatever company you like.

Yes. Just get a Verizon phone off Ebay or anywhere. Assuming the seller doesn't sell you one with a bad ESN than you can activated it with no problem.
