Using the IMEI number to find an offline, lost iPhone 5?
Hi, I recently had my iPhone 5 stolen, on find my iPhone it will not give me the location because it is offline. I was wondering if there was anyway I could use the IMEI (which I have) to find the location of my iPhone.
I think you can't use IMEI into finding your lost iPhone. As far as I know, phones of the same model or unit have the same IMEI. What I'm trying to say is that your iPhone5 and someone's iPhone5 have the same IMEI.
- What if i can't find my IPhone's IMEI number? I recently just bought an IPhone 4 from a relative but haven't been able to find its IMEI number where it should have been located is it a fake?

- I lost my iPhone 5, can I track it using IMEI number? I lost it. Is there any possible way to track it? If someone found it and wiped it can I still track it using the IMEI number? Or is it a lost cause. I kow apple says they won't flag the phone as stolen and neither will the carrier, but can it be tracked by imei?
