Verizon iPhone 5c to Straight Talk?

I recently about an AT&T iPhone off of eBay to use on Straight Talk. However, I found out after I purchased it that the coverage is very bad in my area. I was wondering if I could buy an iPhone originally from Verizon and transfer it to Straight Talk without being a verizon customer? Also, if i used the SIM card I have now would that work? If I used my SIM card would I still have the same coverage as I did with my AT&T phone or would I get Verizon's coverage?

What you say makes no sense. You say that say that Straight Talk coverage is bad in your area, yet you propose to fix that by using a different phone with the same network. If Straight Talk coverage is bad in your area with the first phone, the coverage will be just as bad as with the first phone.
