What does restore from backup mean on iTunes?
I always automatically backup my iPhone and it has the option there
Say your device gets stolen, you might want to restore your new device to get the content back
my daughters ipod touch has had to be reset to default twice and without a backup the content would be lost.
I don't rely on itunes backup
