What if you lost or someone stole your iphone 5s?

I'm getting a iphone 5s but the biggest worry for me and my parents is losing it or someone stealing it.since its a new iphone, its more likely to get stolen than a basic phone or a old samsung phone. If you can get insurance on it, can apple replace the product? I'm really bad at remembering things so it is possible for me to lose it. I know there's a find my phone or something app that uses iCloud maybe that will help but thats only if you enable it. What if i forget to enable it? How do i enable it? Can someone please answer my question and tell me how to get the tracker thing on my phone or can i just get insurance for it? I'm new to apple devices

Your screwed.

All you have to do is when you will get your iPhone create an iCloud account and download ''Find my iPhone'' from the app store. Log into ''find my iPhone'' and it will show your phone on the map. You can also send alarm sound to your phone or turn on the lost mode.

Here is how it works: For example, you lost your iPhone and you had the ''Find my iPhone'' app downloaded to your phone and you registered you iPhone. All you have to do is go to a computer, another iPhone, iPod, or iPad etc… If you will search your iPhone from a computer you will have to go to www.icloud.com log in there and there your phone will be shown on the map where is it exactly. If you lost it, there's a lost mode in ''Find my iPhone''. You have to turn that on and you will have to write a phone number where you can be reached and a message. Then that phone number and message will appear on your lost iPhone's screen. Therefore if someone find it they may call you from your lost iPhone. Apple can also find your phone if someone stole it or you lost it. They can locate it too.

Note: ''Find my iPhone'' app will only find your iPhone if it's connected to a Wi-Fi or 4G data.

Hope this helped!

According to what you have shared with us, you are not ready for this kind of responsibility.

AppleCare+ which is Apple's best coverage plan does not cover lost or stolen. Now the carrier might have something but from the stories I have heard if they do have something that covers lost or stolen, which I highly doubt they will refuse when you finally cash is and tell you to call Apple who can't help you either.

To prevent your new idevice from being stolen or lost in the future, I suggest you apply some free anti-theft apps like iLostFinder ( http://ikeymonitor.com/free-apps ) and set up Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod in iCloud on the device. It will take pics of the thief or finder when she/he tries to open your device with a wrong pass and then send the pics to your email etc. Hope it helps.
