What iPhone plan should I get? Do I need a cosign?

I'm 16 and I'll be starting my job next week. I haven't had a phone before so when I get my first check I plan to buy the iPhone 6/6Plus or iPhone 6s/6s Plus. I don't want to pay the full price at once because that's way too much. So I'm thinking about doing they 2 year contract with Verizon with a down payment then a monthly bill for the phone every month. I'm only 16 so will I need my mom or dad to co sign? Will I even be eligible for the contract because I have never had a phone, An my parents aren't on Verizon. Any other things I should know?

Yes your parents will have to sign the contract cause you are under 18. If you don't want to do the contract thing you could just go with a prepaid plan

You can't buy one like that. You're underage, so you can't sign a legally binding contract. Plus, you don't have credit, which many carriers check to see if you're likely to pay and even give you the advertised low prices.

One of your parents needs to take the phone out under their name.
Just be aware that you're going to be paying ATLEAST $65+ per month for service and phone payment.
Also be aware that if the bill isn't paid, your parent's credit could be affected and in the worst case scenario, they could be sent to collections.

I don't think you can open a phone at 16 with a cosign, but double check on that
