I would go for an apple watch series 3 with GPS and network. Iphone x is too over the top
How should we know what you should get? Are you incapable of thinking for yourself? Do you want a new phone or a smart watch? It's a simple question to answer, none of us here can answer for you.
IPhone 7 is not yet obsolete, i'd stick with the 7 and get the Apple Watch, if I wanted it so badly, and get the iPhone 11 (or XS?) next year.
If you could afford it, I would.
I too have a 7 & I'm fine with it for another year though. Usually buy every 2 years which is why I'm not planning on going for the 8/X this year.
Keep the 7. The iphone x is much more expensive.
Try to read more about each product and see what your priorities are and what you are using them for.
